THE PLACE

Ngoma wetmill was originally built with assistance from USAID program supporting the creation of a fully washed coffee market in Rwanda. The station is located just off the shores of Lake Kivu, with coffees farms in the hills surrounding the station.

This station has a very large capacity, operating a 3 ton/hr McKinnon disc pulper, washing channels, dry fermentation tanks, and soaking tanks. The parchment is dried on raised beds for 15-22 days before dry milling. Ngoma the potential to do far more volume, but they usually average to 2 boxes to ensure quality remains a priority.
